Essential element in Sligo, Irish music is somehow recent for Jean-Gérard. Graduated as a jazz bass and double bass player, he brings energy and fun to the band, but mostly plays in a style of his own. He's a genuine jazz lover, Jaco Pastorius is his main influence. The notes he plays on the fretless bass and double bass contribute to Sligo's specific sound, mixing traditional music with jazz, which makes the whole thing quite original.
